About the Tassel
The tassel is symbolic with graduations. High school and college students start with their tassels on the right, which symbolizes their time as a student. They move their tassels to the left upon graduation to confirm their newfound graduate status. This simple but beautiful tradition is performed at commencements across the country.

Every year on May 17, National Graduation Tassel Day is designated as the day to honor students, their academic achievements, and start of a new journey.
